F.A.Q.

1. What kind of Yoga is this?

Our yoga classes are based on a series of asanas commonly know as the 84 Classic Asanas. The closest style of yoga to our classes are those from the Hot Yoga lineage. The Yoga Challenge 1-4, Bikram or Barkan methods are similar examples.


2. Is this Bikram Yoga?

No. While our system has many of the same poses, our classes are NOT Bikram yoga. Bikram yoga is the same exact 26 poses done in 98-105 degree taught with a specific dialogue for 90 minutes. Our classes will often have 40 or more poses, taught with dialogue in 85-90 degree heat for 60 minutes.


3. Who did you learn from?

The director was trained by Tony Sanchez of the Us Yoga Association. During the course of 4.5 years, Brian learned the 84 classic asanas in the traditional way. By lots of practice directly with Mr. Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez was trained by Bikram Choudhury and certified through the Ghosh's College of Physical Education in Calcutta during the late 70's to early 80's.


4. I love your classes and I am moving is there anyone else teaching your style of yoga?

The Director knows of only 2 other studios in the country that teach this style. Yoga on York in York,Maine and Yoga on Baxter in Louisville, Ky. He is hopeful that in the future to train more in this style of yoga.


5. I have never done yoga before, can I do this class?

Absolutely! Our classes are designed for beginners! They will be challenging but doable. All postures can be modified to accommodate physical limitations such as injury or pregnancy.


6. Wow it's really warm, could you turn down the heat?

Yes, it is hot. It's a hot yoga studio. No, we will not turn down the heat. Sorry.
